BVCM celebrates 20th anniversary: Two decades of innovation and growth in credit management

BVCM is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. What began as an ambitious company has grown over two decades into an established name in the industry. With a wide range of services, innovative solutions and a strong focus on customer orientation, BVCM continues to develop and innovate. Twenty years ago, BVCM was founded with the mission of supporting companies with their accounts receivable management and collection processes. Over the years, the company has undergone impressive development, expanding its services and continuously optimizing both its internal organization and technologies. All this without losing sight of the personal contact with debtors and partners.

Looking back 20 years

"Who could have predicted that BVCM, founded in 2005 in a modest office in Amsterdam, would grow 20 years later into a leading international Order to Cash player? Certainly not me," said André Groot, founder and DGA of BVCM.

"From day one, BVCM has focused on continuously improving its services and increasing customer satisfaction. That has always been our goal. Of course, BVCM could never have grown without the commitment of its dedicated employees. By listening carefully to our clients and providing innovative solutions, we got to where we are today. When I started in business-to-business debt collection 20 years ago, I never could have imagined that we would eventually encompass the entire international prospect-to-cash chain. In these two decades, we have undergone tremendous development, weathered multiple economic challenges and seen how legislation, software and digital techniques have changed exponentially. Where I used to work with folders full of collection files, software and artificial intelligence (AI) now help us take the right personal actions at the right time. Personal contact and innovation have always been at the core of our success."

"BVCM is where it is today thanks to a loyal group of customers, whom we consider partners. Every day we put in our maximum effort, not only from Amsterdam, but also from our office in Curaçao. Together with our employees, we are proud of the position we have acquired within the credit management landscape. The challenge remains to improve ourselves every day and to do a little bit better each time."

Key milestones from recent years

BVCM's many developments over the past few years show that we continue to innovate and grow. For example, our advanced Order to Cash platform was fully rolled out, providing customers with a total solution to optimally manage their cash flow. This underscores our ambition to remain at the forefront of the industry. In addition, after fifteen years of absence, BVCM was once again at the Credit Expo, the trade fair for credit management, last November, with which BVCM once again entered into direct dialogue with clients and partners.

Meanwhile, the workforce grew to one hundred employees and now as many as 107, emphasizing its solid growth and appeal as an employer. Special milestones were also celebrated internally, such as the fifteen-year tenure of two colleagues and the impressive twenty-year career of Carel Alberts within the credit management industry, a confirmation of the deep expertise within the team. Another sign of continued growth is the opening of a new office building of BVCM Antilia to support the expansion of the BVCM team in Curaçao.

Future vision and ambitions

With all these developments, BVCM remains focused on strengthening its market position by investing in talent, technology and client-focused solutions. The coming years will be marked by further digitization and automation, with the goal of making accounts receivable management, debt collection and the entire Order to Cash process even more efficient. In addition, the international presence will be further expanded, with new offices and strategic collaborations supporting global growth.
